Phoenix Classics Monthly Newsletter - December 2025
Issue #4 : Published
A Note from the Chairman
First of all last month myself, Geoff Twist and Ian Baker attended Terry’s funeral. It was a real honour to be asked to attend and to see the love and respect Terry received from his family and friends.
It has been a fairly quiet month, with our usual weekend meetings taking place. I am very pleased to report that the issues we had with The Manor Farm have now been fully resolved. This was made possible thanks to Janine and the hard work she put into organising and liaising with the management.
A massive thank you to Graham Morris for arranging our Christmas meal, and also to everyone at Chapelford Farm. The food was excellent and the staff were fantastic, helping to make it a really good Christmas meal.
Finally, I would like to thank all our members for their continued support and for helping to make it another memorable year for the club. I would also like to personally wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I look forward to seeing you all again in the year ahead.
Regards,
Carl - Club Chairman

Last Month’s Highlights

After days of miserable storm weather the sun came out for us at The Harrow. A great turnout for this time of year with quite a few new cars and faces coming along to join us.
Men's Mental Health Day, Derbyshire Hill Family Centre -

As part of Men's Mental Health Awareness day we were invited to bring our cars along to the Derbyshire Hill Family Centre and help engage with the wider community. Members enjoyed playing pool and table tennis and were kept well fed with a very nice hot-pot and other nibbles.

Miserable weather didn't dampen a good turn out, we're the only club in the area to organise meetings every Sunday throughout the whole year.

As there were five Sundays in November we were back at Chapelford Farm for the first time in a while. Gordon Fernavs' Vauxhall Carlton was a star of the morning, a lovely original car attracting a lot of attention. We also managed to get a display lineup of three Rover P6s, all belonging to club members.
Phoenix Christmas Meal at Chapelford Farm. Photo by Darren Walsh.
Our Christmas meal was a huge success with over 30 members attending the evening. We rapidly outgrew the area we'd had reserved for us and took over a large section of the rest of the pub. The carvery was excellent and there was much laughter and festive merriment. An evening that demonstrated a side of the club away from the cars themselves, of friendships and good company.

A damp and grey day didn't put people off attending, we had another great turnout for this time of year.

A great turnout for this time of year, we were joined by two members of the North West Imprezas Charity Subaru Owners Club with their cars and several other new faces that we hope to see again at future meetings!
